Greater Manchester Habitat for Humanity is seeking partner families for its 50 Hosley Street project.
Each unit in the three-family condo has two bedrooms, one bathroom, a living room, dining room, kitchen and deck.
To become a Habitat homeowner, a family must be in need of affordable housing, able to make an interest-free monthly mortgage, tax and insurance payments, and work as a partner with Habitat. If your family lives in substandard housing with inadequate plumbing, poor heating, leaking roof, overcrowding (three to a bedroom), unsafe or unsanitary conditions; or you are a resident of public housing, and you have lived or worked in the greater Manchester area for at least a year, you may qualify for a new home from Habitat for Humanity.
Families are expected to attend classes and to contribute many hours working side by side with Habitat volunteers in construction of their home. Often, a family will contribute to fundraising efforts of the organization or volunteer in the office, if they are physically unable to work on the construction site.
